Helsinki International Ballet Competition is more than just a competition: it is an intensive one week educational experience. Everyone leaves Helsinki as a winner!
The competition organisation provides daily training classes for participants during the competition. The classes are given by Wilfried Jacobs (Principal dancer in the Finnish National Ballet and teacher with the Ballet School of Finnish National Opera and Ballet), Jarmo Rastas (teacher with the Finnish National Ballet), Ophélie Rodighiero (teacher with the Ballet School of Finnish National Opera and Ballet) and Anu Sistonen (dancer, teacher and choreographer in Dance Developement).
The competitors will also receive training by Henrik Burman and Asla Jääskeläinen (Finnish National Ballet), as well as theme workshops held by the international jury members Nina Ananiashvili, Patrick Armand, Julio Bocca and Cynthia Harvey.
