The first prize in each category is named after the founder of the competition, Finnish ballet dancer, prima ballerina Doris Laine.

Choreography Prize

1st prize 7.000 €

If the choreographer of a contemporary dance work performed by a competitor wishes to participate in the choreography competition, this must be entered on the registration form. The choreography competition will take place in the second round and only the contemporary dance works performed in the semi-finals will be evaluated for the choreography prize.

Audience Favourite Prize

Pro Dance Association is donating an Audience Favourite Prize (1000 €) to the competitor who receives the highest number of audience votes.

Encouragement Prize to a Promising Finnish Dancer

Attitydi ry is donating an Encouragement prize (1000 €) to a promising Finnish dancer, chosen by the jury. Attitydi ry is a ballet association based in Lappeenranta, dedicated to supporting and promoting the knowledge and practice of dance.

Prizes by the Finnish National Ballet

One competitor will be invited to the International Summer Intensive of the Finnish National Ballet from 20 to 25 July, 2026. The stipend will cover the tuition fee (900 €) and daily lunches at the Opera House.

One competitor will be offered a two-week internship with the Youth Company of the Finnish National Ballet.

The jury may decide to divide prizes among several winners and is not obliged to award all prizes. The jury may also award other prizes or scholarships approved by the organizer.
