The Helsinki International Ballet Competition (HIBC) is one of the most important classical ballet events in Finland. It has been held regularly every 4–5 years since 1984, and is one of the few international dance events in Finland.
Since 2001, the competitions have been organised by the Helsinki International Ballet Competition Association.
The purpose of the association is to promote classical ballet and contemporary dance in Finland and to expand the audience for dance art.
