In Round I all competitors present classical variations and in Round II a contemporary piece. In the Final round (Round III) competitors will perform both classical variations and contemporary repertoire. The application period for the competition is 1.11.2025\u201331.1.2026.<\/p>\n<h3>Competition Categories<\/h3>\n<p>HIBC 2026 has three divisions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Juniors<\/strong> (ages 15 to 18)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Young Professionals<\/strong> (ages 19 to 21)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seniors<\/strong> (ages 22 to 25)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gender categories will be discontinued in the 2026 competitions.<\/p>\n<h3>Competition Rounds<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First Round<\/strong> (28 to 30 May, 2026)\n<ul>\n<li>Competitors perform two variations from the classical ballet repertoire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Second Round<\/strong> (1 to 2 June, 2026)\n<ul>\n<li>Competitors perform a contemporary dance piece choreographed after 2020<\/li>\n<li>Competitors can perform either a solo or a duet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Finals<\/strong> (3 to 4 June, 2026)\n<ul>\n<li>Competitors perform either two classical variations or one pas de deux, as well as one contemporary dance piece<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gala and Prize Ceremony<\/strong> (5 June, 2026)\n<ul>\n<li>Highlights from competition performances along with guest dancers<\/li>\n<li>Prize Ceremony<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Jury<\/h3>\n<p>Javier Torres, the Artistic Director of the Finnish National Ballet, is the President of the HIBC Jury.
