Maria Baranova has a succesful international career. In 2012 she became second in the senior category of the Helsinki International Ballet Competition and she won the junior category in 2009. Ms. Baranova began her vocational education in Helsinki Dance Institute in 1999. In 2008 she participated in the Prix de Lausanne competition, where the artistic director John Neumeier invited her to join the school of the Hamburg Ballet. In 2009 began her career as a dancer in the Hamburg Ballet.
In 2011 Ms. Baranova won the Erik Bruhn Prize in Toronto and in the same year was invited as a principal dancer in the Finnish National Ballet. Ms. Baranova left the Finnish National Ballet in 2015 as she became a first soloist in the Boston Ballet. In 2019 Ms. Baranova became a principal dancer in the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich.
