My memories from HIBC

It was our first competition together with my wife, ballet dancer Iana Salenko. The competition was very well organised and we met a lot of friends who we still remember today.

My personal HIBC highlight

I think for me it was to win the third prize among all these really good boys. I really didn’t expect that!

Developing as a dancer

I could improve in pas de deux skills because it was my first experience dancing a full pas de deux on stage.

About the arrangements at the HIBC

The competition was very professional and well organised.

What I learned

I learnt to concentrate on myself because there were so many good dancers and it just confuses you if you pay too much attention to the other dancers.

The meaning of ballet competitions for young dancers

I would recommend ballet competitions because it is really challenging for your nerves and body. And also to keep your focus for the whole time during the competition. Through ballet competitions, one can also gain more stage experience and become known in the ballet world.
